Saturday 11 September
United travelled to Portaferry missing a large portion of the regular squad due to various commitments with 8 players missing from last week’s squad.
United conceded two in quick succession after half an hour but could’ve scored themselves had the Portaferry goalkeeer not been in inspired form.
The away side continued to battle back but conceded again. Another late goal sealed the victory for Portaferry. The scoreline somewhat flattered the hosts against a depleted Ballynahinch side who turn to Border Cup action this week.

Swifts also suffer
The Swifts were also missing a few players and a number of others stepped up to the first team, while Valley Ranges Colts were able field a strong side as their higher level teams had no fixture.
Undeterred, the Swifts went ahead when Allan Massey scored after 15 minutes. They couldn’t hold on however, and their makeshift defence started to crack. They found themselves 3 – 1 down at the break.
The second half didn’t produce the performance that was needed and the team tired and fell further behind.
