United count cost of missed chance
Match Sponsor: The Gym Dock – Ballynahinch
Colin Valley capitalised on a lacklustre performance. The home team could’ve went ahead first when an effort from Ian McMullan was blocked. Jack Forbes pounced on the rebound but his attempt was cleared off the line.
Stefan Graham kept United in the game when he made yet another magnificent penalty save. It wouldn’t last however and United soon conceded twice and went into half-time two down.
After the break, Jack Forbes had another chance, this time he hit the post and the rebound was steered wide by Robbie Hagan.
The home team, in yellow, continued to try find a way back but couldn’t put together enough to make the difference.
Stefan made a number of other great saves to keep United in with a chance but it wasn’t to be when they eventually conceded a third to put the game beyond doubt.

Swifts saved by Stevenson
The Swifts were also in action. They faced Strangford at Langley Road but it wasn’t the start they wanted when they found themselves 2 – 0 down after failing to deal with two long balls.
The team didn’t give up though and battled back. John McMenamin set up the first when his chipped ball found the onrushing forward, Johnny Stevenson who ran onto the lofted pass to cut the deficit to just one.
Johnny Stevenson bagged again when he tapped it into an empty net after Graeme McMullan had put it on a plate for him.
United’s Swifts threatened time and time again to get the winner but in the end will be disappointed with both teams sharing the spoils.
