Match Report: BUFC 1 – 2 Bangor Amateurs

Ballynahinch United welcomed Bangor Amateurs to The Millbridge for another wet NAFL Div 1B tie.

The teams played out an exciting 3 – 3 draw in Bangor earlier in the season. United were again missing a number of players through suspensions and holidays but were able to welcome back Johnny Stevenson, Ben Wilson and Alex Burtney to the squad, alongside new signing Joshua Crangle.

The team were kitted out in their new blue kit with yellow trim and performed well, until Bangor took the lead. The United team battled back and equalised through a magnificient curling effort from Ross Murray into the top corner.

Both sides were evenly matched throughout the game but were unable to find the next goal until the dying minutes. Roy Shilliday was the unfortunate United defender who saw the ball ricochett off his arm whcih the referee awarded a penalty for.

United couldn’t complain. Stefan Graham was unable to save the spot kick despite his best efforts. The whistle soon sounded for full time.

Following the game, we drew the November winners for our 50s Club.
