Match Report: B United 3 – 3 Bryansburn Rangers

Ballynahinch entertained relegation rivals, Bryansburn Rangers, at The Millbridge with both tems desperate for the points.


The away team drew first-blood after 20 minutes when a cross was turned in at the bakpost.

Despite missing six regulars, United battled back and earned a penalty which Matthew Shaw scored to equalise.

The home team fell behind again when a runner from midfield wasn’t picked up and scored a second before half-time.

Gregg Allison was replaced by Luke Curry on the half after suffering a hamstring tear and it was the substitute who made it 2 – 2 with a thunderous volley.

United continued to improve in the second half and hand chances to go ahead with Glenn Bennett going closest.

Michael Vladeanu kept United in it at the other end with some good saves however, he was unable to stop Bryansburn’s spot kick which made it 3-2.

Ballynahinch were reduced to 10 with 15 to go but continued to put the pressure on, and their patience paid off when the referee awarded another penalty.

Matthew Shaw stepped up again but missed! Th away side roared! but fortunately the forward followed up the rebound and found the net to the relief of United.
