It is with deep regret that we must announce the departure of Jonathan Smith as First Team Manager.
Jonny was appointed on 20 November 2025 after leading Newtown Forest unbeaten to the top of the Down Area Winter Football League Division 1.
Unfortunately this season hasn’t went to plan and the club have made the difficult decision to make a change.
Jonny is a committed individual, spending long hours working to find the extra edge against teams and also made 9 appearances for the first team.
For that, we are very grateful for his contribution as Ballynahinch United manager and he will always be welcomed at The Millbridge. He has also offered to stay on as a player.
We wish Jonny all the best in his future as a manager and coach and know he has the determination and ambition to succeed.
More details will follow about the permanent first team manager. In the interim, Gareth Bingham will fill the void with assistants, David Teggarty and Keith Hamilton while Graeme Bailie will remain in his role as GK Coach.
Graeme McMullan will take look after the Swifts in NADAFL Division 1 when they kick off their season on 5 September supported by Stephen McNair.
