Thank you Bingy
We have regretfully accepted Gareth Bingham’s resignation as Swifts Manager.
As a mark of respect, our corner flags will fly at half-mast.
Gareth took over on 12 May 2017, with Davy Teggarty as assistant, after Alan Davis and the late Paul Allison took on the First Team job.
During Bingham’s tenure, John Stevenson bagged the most goals with 27 while Allan Massey, John McMenamin and Graeme McMullan were his go-to men for the Captain’s armband.
John McMenamin picked up three Manager’s Player of the Year awards from Bingy, with Conor Graham, Matthew Lindsay and Will McNeill (joint), and most recently Ben Wilson have also received the award.
Gareth will remain as the Club Treasurer and will still be available for selection.
He will be hoping to return to the form that saw him pick up Swifts Manager’s Player of the Year back-to-back in 2014/2015 and 2015/2016.
Everyone at the club would like to thank Bingy for his 8 years of service as Swifts Manager and wish him good luck as he makes a the move from Manager to Midfield Maestro, once again making magic on the pitch (…if selected).
Gareth has offered to continue as manager until a replacement is appointed. In the meantime, we will be reviewing the situation internally, however, if you would like to express an interest in the role, please get in touch.
